On the Autumn Equinox, when day and night meet as equals, Fat and the Moon is stepping into balance in a new way. After years of hand-stickered clear jars, our beloved formulas now live in printed amber apothecary glass. This shift honors both the timelessness of herbal medicine and the future of sustainable body care.
From Hand-Stickered to Printed Apothecary Glass
For more than a decade, our jars carried their magic dressed simply in clear glass with hand-applied labels. That scrappy beginning reflected our roots: herbal potions mixed in a Brooklyn kitchen, shared among friends and family, and slowly growing into a wider circle.
This season, the vessels evolve. Amber glass, long used in apothecaries to protect delicate botanicals from light, is now printed directly with our designs. The result is a jar that feels more enduring, more artful, and more aligned with the plant medicine it holds. Printing directly on glass also reduces materials and ensures labels never peel or smudge. It is beauty and function intertwined.
At Fat and the Moon, we believe packaging is an ingredient. The vessel you hold in your hand is as much a part of the experience as the potion inside. Our new jars are not just containers. They are extensions of the formulas themselves.
Skin Care, Now Boxed in Hemp
For the first time, our entire skin care collection comes packaged in beautiful boxes made from sustainable hemp fiber, created in partnership with Printed On Hemp. These boxes are more than an aesthetic upgrade. They carry forward our commitment to materials that tread lightly on the planet. Hemp is a rapidly renewable crop that requires less water, fewer pesticides, and regenerates soil health.
By choosing hemp, we are investing in a material that has deep historical roots and an exciting future in sustainable design. For our stockists, the boxes also mean easier merchandising and a stronger shelf presence. It is another way we are supporting the community that carries our work forward.
