Fat and the Moon works with plants that are abundant, ethically harvested and organically cultivated, and uses packaging that is reusable and easy to recycle.
Endorsed by stars like Kristen Bell and Alanis Morissette, as well as everyday folks conscious of their impact on their body and the earth, Fat and the Moon is a trusted source for the best that nature offers our bodies.
Founder Rachel Budde was studying fine art in New York City when she became fascinated by the weeds growing out of sidewalks and in abandoned lots. Weeds, it turns out, have medicinal properties that correlate with the illnesses people experience in an area. Rachel dove into learning about the surprising ways plants support their population’s wellbeing. Following the thread of her Slovenian herbalist roots, she began experimenting with plant-based recipes designed to aid our bodies’ innate capacity for healing.
Fat and the Moon, now six years old and based in Northern CA’s Gold Country, continues to reveal the surprising linkages between not only the plants, but the products we interact with everyday. Fat and the Moon works with plants that are abundant, ethically harvested & organically formulated, and uses and packaging that is recyclable & reusable. In a crowded and competitive beauty space, Fat and the Moon is taking a bold step to make transparent the ways in which the plants and products we use exist in intimate relationship with nature, and why a radical new kind of consumer awareness is called for if we want to exist in right relationship with the planet.
