As witches, we aim for the stars so we can change the world. While we are implementing sustainable practices as a baseline, we don’t get comfy there.‘Regeneration’ is the more active term we can get behind, and to be a regenerative entity, we have to stay on our toes.At Fat and the Moon, we let our commitment to more aligned materials, suppliers, practices, and systems lead our way.
PURPOSE IS PART OF THE BIZ
Fat and the Moon is part of Purpose Pledge, a community of companies working to embed purpose into governance, operations, sourcing, giving, and community engagement.
We think about purpose the same way we think about working with plants: something you return to, refine, and stay in relationship with over time.It’s a continuation. It evolves as you learn, adjust, and take responsibility for impact.
Joining the Purpose Pledge felt like a natural extension of that approach.
It creates space for companies to define what impact actually looks like in practice and stay accountable to it alongside others doing the work.
Purpose only holds weight when it’s backed by action. Taking the pledge is both a reflection of where we are and a commitment to keep refining what responsible business can look like.
INGREDIENTS AND SOURCING
Fat and the Moon ingredients are sourced from farmers, humans and businesses that align with Earth First ethos and values.
We see the direct and powerful bond between plants and farmers. We are so honored to be able to work with both the plant beings and the farmers they’ve grown, because they literally are a part of the magic infused in each FM potion.

PACKAGING IS AN INGREDIENT
Our packaging is an ingredient, and so are the shipping materials and production practices of Fat and the Moon. Our Coven takes cold hard looks at every detail of impact.
Waste does not exist in non-human nature, everything is food for something else; since this is the standard we are aiming for, we always fall short. That’s what keeps us going.
All of our packaging materials are recyclable, reusable, or compostable.
ECO-CONSCIOUS SHIPPING
Our priority is to use reusable, recyclable containers, and to minimize superfluous packaging. We are constantly evolving our choices for aligned packaging and shipping companies and materials. One thing we can guarantee: no plastic— ever.
We use:
- Recyclable box made of post consumer material
- Biodegradable and recyclable tape
- Reusable and recyclable tissue paper
- Reused and recyclable packing paper
We also offer carbon offset shipping with EcoCart, with funds going directly to Global Forestry Projects.
MINIMAL MAXIMALIST PHILOSOPHY
What is a maximal minimalist, or a minimal maximalist for that matter?
Well, inspired by our ancestors who were brilliant at finding a use for EVERY part of the plant and animal, stick and stone- we recognize a certain applied creative genius born from full appreciation.
We, like most, want to get the most bang for our buck. We, like some, want to reduce the waste created by superfluous extra crap we don’t need. We, like a few, want to travel the world with just a tin of All Salve by our side for our every need.
Maximal minimalism is potency. And being the Witches we are, we like our potions potent.
