AUTUMN the Band x FM: The Collab of our Cosmic Dreams

We’ve been working hard on a really special project, and to say we are over the Moon for this announcement is a wild understatement. Full pun intended.

We’ve teamed up with AUTUMN the Band to create music-inspired plant magic that supports their brand new EP, The Way Your Blood Beats

Autumn Brown shared in her own words how this project came to be:

“A little history on this collaboration: I have personally used Fat products since I first discovered them at my favorite witch store in Minneapolis, The Future, in 2019. Over the years, Fat has collaborated with my podcast, How to Survive the End of the World, to provide discounts on their beautiful products for our patrons. A few months ago, Fat founder Rachel Budde reached out to me asking if she could support my work in the world in any way, and this concept was born: music-inspired plant medicine!

We sent Rachel our music, and she created two medicinal products in response:

  • The Animal in You "Sonic Soak" (a Bath Soak)
  • The Way Your Blood Beats "Mist with Music" (a Face and Bod Mist)

Both products will come with recommended practices for how to use them in partnership with the music. It's witchy as hell and I'm so here for it.”

About the Music

The Way Your Blood Beats is a sonic ritual through which the musicians, and those who listen, move into the past and towards the future to access grief, joy, and healing. AUTUMN’s first EP, The Animal in You, was released in January 2024.

The most recent single, “Bloodsong,” from The Way Your Blood Beats is now available on all platforms. From Autumn Brown: “This song is about the rage and grief and mystery of enslavement, genocide, and acts of collective cruelty. It has been medicine for me, as an artist, to bring it into the world, and I hope it is medicine for you to hear it.”

AUTUMN is a soul-pop collaboration from Autumn Brown and Nehemiah Luckett. Their music sits at the nexus of musical virtuosity, ritual, and play. Teaming up with Merrill Garbus of Tune-Yards and hip-hop artist Sterling Duns, they have created an album unique in sound and universal in the expression of experiences of grief, joy, and healing.

AUTUMN’s influences include spirituals and gospel traditions, soul, pop, and electronic music. The pair invites contemporary and experimental choral music to inform their harmonic approach. Their debut EP, The ‘Animal in You,’ is infused with a sense of ritual, of the fantastical, and of time-traveling portals through which the artists, and those who listen, can move in all directions.

Let’s remember dirt is not the problem, chemicals are. Chemicals affect our endocrine system, throwing wrenches into the complex communication of our hormones. Chemicals don’t break down in the environment, they get passed through the systems of other creatures, disrupting their bodies.

Four recipes we'll be throwing down this season. We see the holidaze as a time to revel in the ginger and spice, to balance all the things that aren’t so nice. The flavors of the winter seasons are warming, stimulating, reminders of our sensual capacity.
