Oh, Hecate!

Written by Fat and the Moon September 12, 2018

Oh Hecate, Goddess of the veil between light and dark. She ain’t afraid to dance between spheres mortal and divine — and it’s no surprise the webs of meaning connect her to the Egyptian goddess of fertility, Heqet — for in being oh so brave as to travel to and from the darkness, she emboldens others in that crossing, including Persephone on her annual journey into Spring. Supporting fertility and the birth of all good things? ‘Tis so, and plant lore and medicine assist in these crossings. Hecate’s dog posse is both mutt and mirror: fellow guardians of the threshold, dogs remind us of the diligence required in watching over these wild realms… and the thrill of howling at moon from the luscious depths of our own deep night.

Hecate Lip Paint is that juicy wine color that adds just the right amount of drama without being the drama queen, you feel me? Hecate is semi-matte so you can add more or less for impact. If you are familiar, think of Hecate as the night time version of the Lip & Cheek Stain.
