'Use Every Part' Flax Cracker Recipe

Written by Fat and the Moon April 10, 2020
Waste does not exist outside the human realm, it is a human concept. Non-human Nature makes use of all the parts, cycles plug decay back into life. This Use Every Part Flax Cracker recipe takes us one, very small, step closer to re-thinking the myriad uses of stuff we would normally throw ‘away’.
The pulp from our Varoom Vinegar gets a new life in this Use Every Part Cracker with insanely delicious results.

Ingredients:
1 cup or more of the pulp leftover from your Varoom Vinegar
1-2 cups flax seeds
Handful of chopped fresh herbs
¼, to ½ cup sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and or pumpkin seeds
A couple tablespoons of Dulse or other spices you dig
Salt to taste
Up to 1 cup water

For the Marmalade version:
Sub out the pulp for marmalade, and add dried currants, goji berries or raisins in place of the herbs and spices!
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mix up all ingredients, adding a little water at a time until you get a dough-like consistency from the flax gel.
Evenly spread the dough out to 1/4 inch thick on a silicone mat or wax paper.
Bake in the oven for a few hours or until the crackers get brittle enough to break into pieces.
