Plant Focus: Turmeric

Written by Marketing FM March 24, 2023

We often find ourselves a bit annoyed by plant trends. Like any respectable snob, we question the depth of the mass’s love, appreciation and true understanding of the latest and greatest botanical. First, it’s Echinacea, then St. John’s Wort, then Reishi and now it’s Turmeric.

It’s not the interest of the plant that gets our knickers in a bunch, it’s the inevitable dilution of the true power of the plant/fungi.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T is what we want to lay down in front of our plant friends, since many of them have been saving our asses for millenia.

So, with that inner thoughts reveal out of the way, we are excited to share our love and admiration of Turmeric, who deserves the hype.

Turmeric Curcuma longa:

In the ginger family, Zingiberaceae. The potent and fluorescent yellow of turmeric is an indication of one of the plant’s powerful constituents, curcumin. Curcumin is what give our Ruby Red Tint her golden glory, and is one of the active compounds in turmeric that help our bods chill out inflammation.

Turmeric is excellent for increasing blood flow to the digestive organs, and modulating the reactive inflammatory processes of the body. This anti-inflammatory effect can be employed acutely during injury or in recovery of inflammatory infections.

For the overzealous supplement department groupies: This kind of high dosing isn’t great for the everyday. Too much of a good thing is real. Culinary use is awesome though! We recommend taking your culinary relationship to Turmeric to new heights with Diaspora Co

Infused with Turmeric and our love of Turmeric, our Ruby Red Tinted Balm gives that pout a purrrfect shade of life force red.
